Senior Investment Analyst / Portfolio Manager / Financial Advisor

Location: Dunwoody, Atlanta, GA (In-Office)

Our client, a distinguished member of the IFG consortium, is seeking an experienced financial professional with a strong investment analysis and portfolio management background. Reporting directly to the Chief Investment Officer, this individual will play a pivotal role in investment research, portfolio construction, and client engagement, while also supporting business development initiatives. Since 2000, the firm has delivered exceptional financial planning and wealth management services to high-net-worth clients nationwide, grounded in the values of honesty, integrity, empathy, professionalism, and proactive communication.

This is a client-facing role requiring exceptional interpersonal skills to engage, educate, and provide strategic guidance to a sophisticated client base. Client is seeking a candidate with CFA level 1 or in the process of finishing CFA level 1.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Analysis:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of and commitment to Value Investing principles and strategy.
  • Analyze client investment portfolios in collaboration with the Financial Planner and Chief Investment Officer.
  • Conduct thorough research on equities, fixed income, and alternative investments to identify opportunities aligned with client objectives.
  • Evaluate risk, performance, and asset allocation to optimize portfolio outcomes.
  • Develop and present investment recommendations for inclusion in client portfolios.
  • Monitor market trends, economic conditions, and investment performance to support ongoing portfolio management decisions.

Portfolio Management:

  • Oversee and manage client portfolios to ensure alignment with investment objectives, risk tolerance, and time horizons.
  • Implement portfolio strategies based on Value Investing principles and the firms investment philosophy.
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews and rebalancing to maintain optimal asset allocation.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and provide detailed reporting and analysis to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage portfolio risks, including market, liquidity, and concentration risks.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Investment Officer and Financial Planners to adjust strategies in response to market conditions and client needs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal investment guidelines.

Portfolio Operations & Implementation:

  • Assist in the construction, monitoring, and reconciliation of clients customized portfolios.
  • Execute and oversee asset allocation, trading activities, and portfolio rebalancing in accordance with client objectives and firm guidelines.
  • Monitor cash positions and liquidity to support investment decisions and operational efficiency.
  • Run and maintain portfolio models to evaluate performance, risk, and scenario outcomes.
  • Perform fee calculations and ensure accurate reporting and billing for client accounts.

Business Development:

  • Actively participate in business development initiatives, industry events, and professional networking opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients and referral partners.
  • Support the growth of the firms prospect pipeline and overall client base.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify strategic growth opportunities and market expansion efforts.
  • Represent the firm professionally at client meetings, seminars, and community events.

Client Service:

  • Maintain proactive and transparent communication with clients, ensuring they are fully informed about their portfolios and investment strategies.
  • Provide timely updates on market conditions, portfolio performance, and any relevant investment opportunities.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for client inquiries, responding promptly and professionally.
  • Educate and guide clients on financial planning concepts, portfolio decisions, and risk management.
  • Foster long-term relationships through attentive service, trust, and personalized support.

Performance Analysis:

  • Conduct comprehensive performance analysis of client portfolios and individual investments.
  • Evaluate returns, risk-adjusted performance, and alignment with client objectives.
  • Effectively communicate outcomes and recommendations to clients, supporting informed investment decisions.

Risk Management:

  • Implement, monitor, and assess security valuations and risk management strategies.
  • Employ diversification, hedging, and derivative strategies to mitigate portfolio risks.
  • Continuously evaluate portfolio exposures and adjust strategies in response to market conditions.

Research:

  • Stay current on business, industry, and market developments that impact investment decisions.
  • Provide insightful research and analysis to support the firms investment strategy and client recommendations.

Administration:

  • Execute essential administrative tasks related to investment accounting, reporting, and documentation.
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with internal and regulatory standards.

Investment Education:

  • Educate clients on various investment strategies and principles, including Value Investing.
  • Empower clients to make informed, confident decisions regarding their financial goals and portfolios.

Skills & Communication:

  • Technical aptitude to quickly learn and navigate business-critical software and systems (e.g., Black Diamond, Redtail CRM).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Strong awareness of business and macroeconomic developments, with focus on long-term strategy rather than short-term market fluctuations.
  • Precisely interpret financial data aligned with client goals and portfolio management strategies.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, embodying the firms core values and unwavering commitment to exceptional service.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and client engagement skills consistent with a high-net-worth client base.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum bachelors degree from an accredited university in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in investment analysis, financial planning, or related fields.
  • Series 7 and Series 66 licensures or equivalent required.
  • CFA designation or achievement within the initial course of employment is expected (CFA Levels I–III), with willingness to pursue each level as a future goal. Client is seeking a candidate with CFA level 1 or in the process of finishing CFA level 1.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Annual Salary: $80,000 – $120,000+ per year, depending on experience and certifications.
